Featuring open architecture, the Falcon runs DOS 6.22 operating system. It also features an 8 x 21 backlit graphics display and a user-accessible PC Card slot for extra memory, network connectivity, or a fax/modem card. Two optional integrated laser scanners are available: standard-range and long- range. And 2.4 GHz spread-spectrum wireless models are available for real-time scanning applications.

The Falcon line also includes a set of powerful and flexible software tools that make it easy to create the ideal application to collect and manage your data. Applications include inventory control, shipping and receiving, factory floor data collection and warehousing, in a variety of industries including health care, retail, manufacturing, and transportation.

The Falcon is offered in several configurations and with multiple accessories to meet your needs. There are several models to choose from and all of them provide the best price/performance value in the market today.

Open Architecture Design

The Falcon utilizes an integrated, PC-compatible, 32-bit 386 microprocessor, with programmable speeds of up to 25 MHz. It features the latest, industry standard DOS 6.22 operating system, which eliminates the need for you to learn proprietary programming languages and allows you to easily use your favorite programming tools.

Make Your Largest Applications Portable!

With its standard 2MB or optional 4MB RAM and its 1MB (2MB in RF models) nonvolatile flash, the Falcon is ideal for data-intensive applications. Plus, you can add ATA flash cards with up to 60MB storage to the Falcon PC Card slot to support the most demanding batch applications.

Easy To Read Display, Easy To Use Keypad

The Falcon features a high resolution, backlit LCD display with graphics capability and adjustable font size of up to 8 lines by 21 characters. The 41 large alphanumeric, splash resistant keys are laid out for quick and easy access—they include 10 function keys and direct access to Western- European characters.

Long-Lasting, Powerful Performance

Every Falcon supports multiple power options, from three AA alkaline cells to NiMH or Nicad rechargeable battery packs. The unit uses an advanced power management system that enables the batteries to last 8 hours in typical batch and real-time applications. Falcon also has a rechargeable lithium backup battery that preserves your data during battery replacement. Optional battery packs can be quickly recharged in two hours with the stand-alone battery charger and conditioning unit.

Great Options, Maximum Flexibility

With its open architecture, the Falcon provides great protection for your investment. Its PC compatible, DOS 6.22-based design combined with its user-accessible PC Card slot give you the flexibility and expandability you need to grow. With its modular design, the Falcon can be configured as a batch or wireless communications unit. The Falcon’s optional high-performance laser scanners are available in standard-range and long-range versions, and are quickly adaptable to either right- or left-handed operation.

The 2.4 GHz spread-spectrum wireless options make Falcon highly versatile and powerful. You can select the right wireless LAN technology to meet your network requirements.

Wide Selection of Accessories

Falcon is available with the accessories you expect for your data collection application. Connect your portable to your host computer using the Falcon Dock, making data transfer fast and simple. Recharge your optional battery packs in 8-15 hours using the Falcon Dock, or in two hours using the available single-slot and four-slot battery charger and conditioning units. Protect your Falcon with a softcase, or slip it into a belt-mounted holster. Add an ATA Flash Card to the PC Card slot to increase data storage capacity. Whatever your application, Percon has the accessories you need.

Powerful Software Tools

Percon’s Portable Applications Library (PAL) software comes free with every Falcon and offers a great variety of handy applications that lets you put the Falcon to work right out of the box. With PAL, application prompts and titles can easily be customized to track and collect different information.

The optional Universal Program GeneratorTM (UPG) is a Windows-based program generator for the Falcon and other popular DOS-based portables. With UPG you don’t need to be a programmer to create your portable applications. Using its own integrated "C" compiler, UPG creates "C" code-based programs and downloads them on the portable. Code Hooks allow you to embed your own "C" code.

The optional Falcon Developer’s Toolkit allows advanced programmers to develop applications using "C" x86-based compilers.

IntelliTrack

IntelliTrack consists of seven easy-to-use data management applications—Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Fixed Assets, StockRoom, ToolRoom, and Check In/Out—all compatible with the Falcon. Whether your customers need to manage inventory, record fixed assets, or track consumable stock, implementation is simple and fast in stand-alone or networked PC systems.
