The Smart Mag STA is a Stand-Alone magnetic stripe reader for use in Access Control and Time and Attendance. With 128k of memory and an internal relay, the Smart Mag STA is a low-cost solution to controlling door access and recording Time and Attendance information. The reader can be downloaded with valid employee numbers, and access can be limited to specific days and times for each employee by using "schedules". All accesses can be logged internally, with a date and time stamp, and this information can be uploaded to a PC at any time. RS422 versions are networkable, and these readers can emulate "J" series readers.
